Email is a more acceptable way for online marketing

[China Glass Network] Recently, an interesting study was conducted by the Design and Precision Marketing Center of Barr University in the United States. The study involved people's receiving habits, preferences, how different people in the role view and how to tap better sales channels.

Researchers have found that both direct mail and email marketing are far more powerful than any other type of social network ad in promoting purchases. A key result of the study showed that people aged 18-34 were more likely to be affected by email marketing messages.

Internet marketing is a news for social network advertising. Social networks have been accustomed to researching market segments that include teenagers, college students, and “young housewives,” but these sales information sometimes does not resonate with consumers. In some cases, social network advertising is actually for the audience, users will consider it a private sales channel; for our inbox, this is also bad news. Because of this research, spam can also be used for marketing with this tool.

Here are the findings of this study for five types of people:

Retired consumers: 80% of them have had an online shopping experience, and 94% have been purchased due to email marketing information.

Young housewives: More than 50% use social networks and text messages, and they are better able to cope with direct mail and email marketing.

College students: The study found that college students are very smart. They think that email is a private communication channel, and that SMS and social networks should also be marketed.

Consumers: 20% subscribe to marketing messages via SMS, which is higher than any other group at this point. However, they just want to be a channel for customer service and dispute resolution, not for sales.

Teens: They prefer to use social networks compared to other user groups. Surprisingly, they are more likely to choose to shop by mailing marketing messages, followed by emails, text messages again, and later social networking sites.

Which group do you belong to? Will you be interested in email marketing, instant messaging, text messaging or social networking? Should the social network cancel the market?
