The discovery of the Han and Han jade materials provides an important basis for the source of Hongshan jade

On January 13th, the "Shanhan Prehistoric Archaeological Research Base" of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Chifeng Shuhan Banner Government of Inner Mongolia jointly held the "New Discovery of the Han and Han Jade and the Jade Culture Origin Symposium" held in Beijing. Experts attending the meeting said that the Aohan Banner is the main source of the source of Hongshan culture jade, and it has inferred the inference of “locally.” Bao Bing expert Qi Bingzhen said that in addition to several famous jade articles such as “Hetian jade”, “Xiyan jade” and “Nanyang jade”, the new concept of “敖汉玉” may be proposed.

Liu Guoxiang, a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said at the meeting that the prehistoric culture of the Shuhan Banner was developed, and the prehistoric jade culture sequence established by the archaeological excavated jade artifacts was unique in Northeast China. In the past studies, the jade materials of the prehistoric culture of Aohan Banner were considered to be from Xiuyan, Liaoning. The newly discovered jade material of Aohan Banner provided useful clues for solving the problem of raw materials source in prehistoric jade articles in the West Liaohe River Basin and even in the Northeast. .

Yang Xiaoming, director of the Xinzhou Museum in Aohan Banner, Inner Mongolia, said that since 2009, after two years of exploration, two tremological jade mines, two agate mines and two chalcedony mines have been discovered. In October 2013, it was identified by geological experts that the Tuohan jade material area belongs to the tremolite soft jade mine, indicating that the stratigraphic layer of the area belongs to the Proterozoic Jianping Group. The ore-forming conditions and laws are consistent with the Liaoning Xiuyan, and the metallogenic conditions range Up to 50 kilometers.

Recently, the topic of “Study on the Comprehensive Investigation of Prehistoric Jade Articles in the Han and Han Dynasties and the Western Region of Liaoning Province” was initiated. Archaeologists collected the jade jade snails, the pyrophyllite clusters, the large number of stone tools and pottery pieces at the Liubeixi site in the Daxiefang translucent stone jade mine area. And tremolite raw materials, the Zhaobaogou cultural site was discovered in the southeast of the mining area and processed agate sheets and stone cores were collected; a large sacrificial area and three small altars were found in the Yangjiawanzitun flashing jade mine area; Large ritual areas and residential areas were discovered in the Linzi Yujing mining area, and jade and a large number of stoneware and pottery pieces were collected.

Archaeological materials indicate that jade billets are found in the Daguayan site of Dadianzi Village in Shuhan Banner, the Camel Camper Site in Fengshui Township, the Dongjiayingzi Site in Shuangjing and the newly discovered Liubeixi Site in Beizifu Town. It should be a place for making jade. . The Han Hanqi jade material and the Hongshan culture ancient jadeware have inseparable historical origins. The discovery of the Han and Han jade materials provides new evidence for the inference of “local materials” and provides an important basis for the source of Hongshan jade.
